Spritz my hair (daily before bed)
ACV rinse (every 2nd and 4th Saturday)
Rebraid my hair (every four weeks)
Simple, huh? Well that is how I like it for now until I learn more about deep conditioning, co washes, and baking soda clarifying. I really want to keep things low maintenance.
I am wearing a wig to help keep my hair protected when I go out or have a tendency to put my hand in my hair. Other than that, I allow my braids to breathe without it on. Underneath my wig, I wear this really wide crotchet headband to protect my hair from the wig and to allow some breathing room.
As of April 10, 2010, I am going to do an ACV rinse weekly on Saturday.
What I have learned so far about my hair and how to maintain it:

Since going back to nappturality.com, I have learned a lot of informative tips to help handle my hair. Prior to this, I would just detangle my hair in one lump without parting it into sections. Now I realize the importance of parting into multiple sections when detangling because it is so much gentler on the hair and especially on the ends.
Another thing I have learned is the significance of using olive oil to help create more of a slip on my hair while conditioning. I thought that the conditioner created enough slip but I was amazed how much the olive oil improved the detangling process.
I also learned that I should always seal my hair's moisture with an oil or shea butter and that I should be moisturizing my hair on a daily basis because hair LOVES water. That is why daily spritz is essential now in my regime.

Along with the box braid and wig challenges, I am going to implement the baggie challenge (Long Hair Care Forum) in my regimen starting Saturday after I cleanse my hair. From reading so far at LHCF, it is a great way for my hair to maintain moisture throughout the day. I am thinking about spritzing my hair in the morning instead of at night and wearing a plastic shower cap over my hair, underneath my crotchet head band, and underneath my wig during the day. In the evening, I plan on removing the shower cap and just using my wide crotchet headband overnight to allow my hair to breath and start again in the morning. I am still fine tuning this method into my routine but will update once I get it down.
